Million Dollar Chicken Casserole

This million dollar chicken casserole lives up to its name! Creamy, cheesy, and topped with buttery crackers. Only 10 minutes of prep. A family favorite.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese divided
  • 1 sleeve buttery crackers e.g., Ritz, crushed (about 1 cup crumbs)
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • Optional: fresh parsley or chives for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×9 or 9×13 baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix cream cheese, cottage cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Stir in shredded chicken and ½ cup cheddar cheese.
  4. Spread mixture into baking dish. Top with remaining ½ cup cheddar cheese.
  5. In a small bowl, combine crushed crackers and melted butter. Sprinkle evenly over casserole.
  6. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Rest 5–10 minutes. Garnish and serve.

Notes

Use rotisserie chicken for a shortcut. Add 1 cup of frozen peas or broccoli for extra veggies. For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free crackers.
