  • 454 g ground hamburger 1 lb, 80/20 or 85/15
  • 240 g ketchup 1 cup
  • 60 g water ¼ cup
  • 25 g brown sugar 2 tablespoons

  • 1 g garlic powder ½ teaspoon

  2. Drain excess grease if needed, leaving a small amount for flavor.
  3. Stir in the ketchup, water, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thick and saucy.
  5. If the mixture seems too thin, let it simmer a few minutes longer.
  6. If it becomes too thick, add a splash of water.
  7. Spoon generously onto hamburger buns and serve warm.
