Ingredients

Family-Friendly Version
  • ½ gallon 8 cups lime sherbet (softened slightly)
  • 2 liters lemon-lime soda chilled
  • 2 cups pineapple juice chilled
  • 1 cup orange juice optional for color + tang
  • Few drops green or purple food coloring optional
  • 1 small piece food-grade dry ice for bubbling effect
Optional Adult Version
  • Add 1 to 1½ cups vodka or
  • 1 cup coconut rum or
  • 1 cup sparkling wine / champagne

Method

  1. Soften the Sherbet: Let sherbet sit 5–10 minutes at room temp until scoopable.
  2. Mix the Base: In a large punch bowl, combine soda, pineapple juice, and orange juice. Stir gently.
  3. Add the Sherbet: Scoop sherbet into the punch; it’ll float and create a foamy top.
  4. Add Color (Optional): Stir in a few drops of food coloring for a richer hue.
Add Dry Ice (Optional)
  1. Wearing gloves and using tongs, add a small chunk of food-grade dry ice right before serving.
  2. It will bubble and fog for 5–10 minutes — pure magic.
  3. Serve Immediately: Ladle into glass cups or mason jars. If using dry ice, wait until fog subsides before drinking.

Notes

  • Make ahead: Mix juices + soda a day before. Add sherbet and dry ice right before serving.
  • Dry ice lasts ≈ 10 minutes per chunk. Add more for a refresher effect.
  • Leftovers: Lose fizz quickly — best served fresh.
