Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup 200g granulated sugar
  • ½ cup 100g packed brown sugar
  • ¾ cup 65g unsweetened cocoa powder (high-quality recommended)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup 120g all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup 115g melted unsalted butter (or vegetable oil for a lighter texture)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup 90g chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate (optional, for extra richness)

Optional Add-Ins:

  • ½ cup chopped nuts walnuts, pecans
  • 1-2 tbsp espresso powder enhances chocolate flavor
  • Sea salt flakes for topping

Instructions
 

Prep & Preheat

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line an 8x8-inch (20x20cm) baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, whisk together:
  • Granulated sugar
  • Brown sugar
  • Cocoa powder
  • Salt
  • Baking powder
  • Flour

Add Wet Ingredients

  • Stir in melted butter (or oil), eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until just combined (do not overmix).
  • Fold in chocolate chips or chopped chocolate (and nuts, if using).

Bake

  • Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes (a toothpick should come out with moist crumbs, not wet batter).
  • For extra fudgy brownies, slightly underbake (~23-25 mins).

Cool & Slice

  • Let cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes before lifting out and slicing.
  • Sprinkle with sea salt flakes (optional) for a gourmet touch.
