Quick Berry Jam

This quick berry jam is made with frozen berries, sugar, and lemon juice and cooks in just 5 minutes on the stove. No pectin, small batch, and perfect for toast or oatmeal.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup frozen berries mixed berries, strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Method
 

  1. Add the frozen berries, sugar, and lemon juice to a small saucepan.
  2. Place over medium heat and bring to a gentle simmer.
  3. Stir occasionally as the berries soften and release their juices.
  4. Continue simmering for about 5 minutes, gently mashing the berries with a spoon until thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool slightly — the jam will thicken more as it cools.

Notes

Texture & Thickness

  • This jam is soft-set and spoonable, not firm like canned jam.
  • If you want it thicker, simmer 1–2 minutes longer.
  • If it gets too thick, add 1–2 teaspoons water and stir.
 

Storage

  • Store in a covered container in the refrigerator.
  • Keeps well for 5–7 days.
  • Not intended for long-term canning or shelf storage.
