Ingredients

Basic Recipe
  • 1 cup sugar 200g
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup peanut butter smooth or chunky, 250g
Optional Add-ins
  • ½ cup chocolate chips dark, milk, or white
  • ½ cup raisins
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips

Method

  1. Preheat the Oven:
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  3. Make the Basic Dough:
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, egg, and peanut butter. Stir until smooth and well combined.
  5. Split the Dough for Variations (Optional):
  6. Divide the dough into 2 or 3 equal parts. Mix in your desired add-ins to each portion: chocolate chips, raisins, or white chocolate chips.
  7. Shape the Cookies:
  8. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart. For the classic look, flatten each ball with a fork, creating a crisscross pattern.
  9. Bake:
  10. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers remain slightly soft. Be careful not to overbake.
  11. Cool and Enjoy:
  12. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Recipe Notes:

  • Use natural peanut butter for a slightly less sweet cookie, but ensure it's well-mixed before adding.
  • If your dough feels sticky, refrigerate it for 10 minutes before shaping.
  • These cookies are gluten-free and perfect for a quick dessert or snack.
