Ingredients

For the Big Mac Sauce:
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
For the Burger Patties:
  • 1 pound ground beef 80/20
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
For Assembling the Big Mac:
  • 3 sesame seed burger buns top, bottom, and middle bun layers
  • 2 slices American cheese
  • ¼ cup shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 2 tablespoons diced onion
  • 4-5 dill pickle slices

Method

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, pickle relish, mustard, vinegar, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors blend.
  2. Slice the extra bottom bun from a second burger bun to create the middle bun layer. Lightly toast all buns for that classic fast-food texture.
  3. Divide the ground beef into two thin patties (about ⅛ pound each). Season with salt and pepper. Cook on a hot skillet or griddle for 2-3 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
  4. Spread Big Mac sauce on the bottom and middle bun layers.
  5. Add shredded lettuce, diced onions, and pickle slices to each layer.
  6. Place a cheeseburger patty on the bottom bun and another on the middle bun.
  7. Stack everything together and crown it with the top bun.

Notes

  • Use thin patties – This helps mimic the fast-food-style bite.
  • Refrigerate the sauce – The longer it sits, the better the flavor.
  • Use shredded lettuce – It gives the Big Mac that classic McDonald's texture.
  • For extra authenticity, serve with crispy French fries!
